To keep your wood finish in good shape it is recommended you use Clapham's Beeswax Mineral Oil. Just rub a little on the piece and wipe off.

We have it in stock for $5.75 plus 1.25 shipping.

Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish

This is an edible finish for salad and fruit bowls, cutting boards, butcher's blocks, kitchen cabinets, counter-tops (wood or stone), children's toys and cribs. It is really easy to use. Apply it very thinly. You can use the bowl immediately afterwards if you like, or you can leave it overnight and then buff it with a cotton cloth for a nice soft shine. We recommend this finish for decorative painted surfaces.

About Your Bowl's Finish:

Your bowl has been finished with a series of oils.  The last oil is a combination of polymerized linseed oil and beeswax, a non-toxic, kitchen approved product.

Care of Your Bowl:

Before using your bowl for the first time, wipe the inside of your bowl with a little bit of olive oil.

Washing:

Rinse with lukewarm water, then wipe out with a soapy dish cloth, rinse again and wipe dry.  After frequent use, refurbish your bowl's finish with mineral oil and rub out with a cloth.  Use Clapham's Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish, details above.

Warning:

Do not place your bowl in the dishwasher or soak in water.  Do no leave salads and liquids in your bowl for long periods of time or place them in your refrigerator.

Note:

These instructions apply to cutting boards and all other wooden utensils with an oil finish.
